Waking up from a coma is hard to do, especially when what you've woken up to is a completely different life. A life filled with other peoples thoughts. Sophia is not only capable of reading minds but she’s also the child of a memory changer and a half-demon. Now, Sophia with the aide of her “talented” siblings Alexia and Joseph must venture through Good and Evil’s centuries old battles. In a kill or be killed world, will the siblings stay true to themselves or fall prey to Evil?

The gusto of this story lies within the family and the minds of those whom the protagonist can read.

What makes this book compelling is that Sophia is the woman next door, our neighbor. Yet, she has an incredible gift, one that opens the door to adventures while at the same time remaining true to reality.

Waking up from a coma and finding herself with the ability to read the minds of other's is intriguing because there are many times in my reality where I wish I could know peoples' thoughts.

The author has this incredible gift to write about the life of an ordinary person whose priority in life is family. Despite the secrets of millennia her heritage holds, Sophia brings it back to reality we can all relate to. It's realizing what is important. It is the ones whom we love the most, our family.

Ms. King allows the reader to feel that sensation of waking up in the mornings, putting on a pair of slacks with pony tail tangled, greeted by dogs in the kitchen, feening coffee and breakfast, only to share that moment with the sister, or brother and parents. The magic lies within the moments of reality. The author can do that, and when I come home from a long day's work, all I want is to just have that sensation of comfort, warmth, and reflectiveness.

Yet everything what makes these characters relatable, is knowing they have gifts that may or may not lead to the destruction of idyllic familiarity. The abilities they learn to hold within them, those that have yet to be explored in a unit become a part of their daily routine.

Wouldn't you think it's rather extraordinary to read the minds of others? Lift objects in moments of anger? Spit fire from the palms of your hands? Yes, it is special. You'd think this gift would change the life of one human soul drastically. But if I think about it, all novelties and gifts eventually become just a part of our life that we learn to deal with.

Ms. King allows us to relate to these gifted people by default of being normal. And that is what I've enjoyed about the story. Her book reminds me that every stranger I meet has a story that I could never guess just by looking at them.

I recommend the book to anyone who wants to feel the closeness of family and know what it would be like to face the challenges of mind reading and knowing that with these gifts must come a price. Not having an alternative, what would you do?

Thank you miss King for reiterating the bond of closeness, discovery, and family.
